1. Do you supply to the public?
As a rule no; we are mainly a bulk importer and wholesale operation
supplying larger volumes to merchants and manufacturers. We would
be happy to direct you to someone who can supply smaller quantities
if that would help though.

2. How far do you deliver?
To some extent that depends on what you need!
Smaller quantities
(less than 12t) are delivered mainly on our own vehicles on multi-drop
runs. As these vehicles are based at our main stock depots in
Newport and Birmingham, the only restrictions are how far the
driver can get before he has to return!
As a guide, we regularly
deliver to the following regions on our fleet:
London and the South East,
Central South,
South West,
All of Wales,
All of the Midlands
Home Counties,
North West,
Some parts of the North East.
Deliveries to areas outside of these are also fairly regular, but
as they rely on outside hauliers, each delivery is arranged and
costed individually. Full loads (24-28t) can be arranged for delivery
anywhere in the UK. We can even deliver to other countries if you
want!

3. Is there a minimum order quantity?
Not as such but we do have to make sure the
order and delivery are financially viable. There's also
the practical considerations; some products would be very easily
damaged in loading and transit if they were sent individually
or in small quantities.
Call us
and we'll be happy to look at your enquiries.

4. Do you have Chain of Custody?
Yes! Premier holds Chain of Custody certification through BM
TRADA for both FSC and PEFC and is constantly striving to expand
the number and volume of products sold under these schemes.

details and copies of our certificates click <here><link

5. What IS chain of Custody?
< Back to FAQ List
......................................................................................................................
5. What IS chain of Custody?
Chain of Custody is a way of tracing legally felled, environmentally managed timber from renewable sources, from the forest through the supply chain to the finished product.
Chain of Custody certification is done by strict, independent third party auditors. At source, the forest resources are assessed to ensure they meet stringent environmental management standards.
Then at each point down the supply chain, each company that buys wood that is felled from that plantation/forest, either to process it or resell it, must be audited also to ensure their controls and procedures ensure traceability. This means that when they sell it on, (reprocessed or not) they must be able to prove that it actually came from the CoC certified material they purchased. If this can be demonstrated and maintained successfully, then as the next link in the supply ‘chain’, they are certificated and so it goes on.
Companies claiming CoC certification must be able to display current certificates issued by accredited certification bodies. This is so that when the consumer finally buys a product which has the assurance of, for example, an FSC label on it, they can be truly assured that this is the case, as it can be traced all the way back through every stage of supply to the forest it originated from.
If the material at any point goes through the possession of a supplier that is NOT Chain of Custody certified, then the chain is broken and from that point onwards, that product can no longer carry any claim that it is from legal and sustainable sources under that scheme.
The two main Chain of Custody schemes are the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification). Premier have been CoC certificate holders under both schemes and were audited to the highest standard by BM TRADA.

8. What do these BS-EN numbers mean on this specification?
Many specification sheets may ask for something along
the lines of “18mm Plywood to BS-EN636-1” for example.
BS-EN numbers govern manufacturing and product performance standards
across thousands of products, timber products included.
For more
information on the most common BS-EN numbers relating to sheet
materials, and what characteristics they refer to,
please refer to the trada website

9. How do I open an account?
If you are
a manufacturer or merchant, and wish to apply for a trade account,

10. Can you deliver direct to site?
It is a service we offer, yes, but it will depend on site restrictions.
Things to bear in mind are: Our fleet is geared to delivering
bulk, therefore the vehicles are a mix of large rigid and articulated
curtain-side vehicles.
They are not suitable for off-load by
overhead crane, no do they carry any means of offloading themselves,
so the site will have to have suitable offloading facilities/arrangements.
Narrow or restricted access (or low bridges/cables) may also
prohibit the vehicles being able to easily access the site. Weight
restrictions may also apply. As long as these considerations
are met, we would be happy to deliver to site.

services which can be performed on our products.
These include cutting,

13. Do you do a brochure/price list?
No. At our level of the industry, prices fluctuate
enormously due to international market conditions and exchange
rates. We feel that they only way to be able to go to print with
prices would be to inflate them sufficiently to cover for these
fluctuations, and we do not believe that this would be to your
best interest.
We would rather keep our prices far more competitive
and encourage you to call us so we can give you the best possible
deal.

......................................................................................................................
14. Do you run Hiab vehicles?
No; Hiab vehicles
would seriously curtail the amount of payload that we could get on our
lorries, and that would reflect heavily in the price of our goods if we sought to recover the higher haulage costs.
This doesn't restrict us from
site deliveries though.

15. Do you split packs?
Yes! Whilst it's nice to deliver in packs and
we would encourage you to buy in packs if you can (it will be cheaper
for you!) we understand that it's not always possible or
desirable, so we are happy to offer split packs/loose sheets too.
