Premier Forest Products Short-Listed For Two
Awards
Newport-based timber importer Premier Forest Products
has been
short-listed for two prestigious awards this month,
one for the
company's
rapid growth and the other in recognition of its
entrepreneurial
flair.
Premier, which imports premium timber and timber
products from
around the world and has reached a remarkable
turnover of nearly
£ 30
million in just twelve years, has made the final of national
newspaper
The Western Mail's Fast Growth 50 Business Awards.
The company
will find out on Friday May 20th if it has won the
sought after
Excellence in Growth Award at an evening ceremony,
to be held
at Cardiff International
Arena. Judges for the
Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, sponsored
by Ernst and Young,
will also meet this week to decide whether
Premier Forest will win
its Southern regional heat and be put
forward for the
next national
level of the contest.
Nigel Williams, Director at Premier Forest Products,
says of the double
award selection;
“May 1st marked our company's twelfth birthday, and within
the
same week we found out that we'd been short-listed for two
high
profile awards, so it was a triple celebration.
From the company's
inception, we have been committed to providing
the best woods
and panel products to our clients, from plywoods to
MDF, to hardwoods
sourced
from Russia and beyond. It seems this principle has paid off
as our company is flourishing and our business
peers are praising
our strategy
and vision.
“If we do win these awards, it will be down to the quality of
our wood
and the hard work of all of the employees at Premier Forest
Products,
so the whole company will be celebrating in any awards successes.
Building up a thriving business is often a hard slog, so to be
recognised
for doing a good job is pretty special, especially
in our sector,
as we timber companies tend to be more
‘head-down, behind-the-scenes' types
of business.”
